HTC launches Desire 616 with octa-core processor

HTC has launched a new octa-core processor-powered smartphone, Desire 616 in the Asian and Russian markets. Information about India pricing and availability is not available but the phone has been priced at S$298 (Rs 14,300 approximately) in Singapore. 

Desire 616 weighs 150gram, measures 142x71.9x9.15mm and sports a 5-inch HD(720x1280p) display. It is powered by a 1.4GHz MediaTek octa-core processor and has 1GB RAM, along with 4GB internal storage and a microSD card slot that supports cards of up to 32GB. 

The dual-sim smartphone comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense UI and BlinkFeed. 

It features an 8MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash that supports full-HD video recording and a 2MP front-facing camera. It has a 2000mAh battery. 

In terms of connectivity features, HTC Desire 616 offers Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. 

The announcement comes days after the launch of HTC Desire 516 in India. The dual sim phone is priced at Rs 14,200. Powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core CPU and 1GB RAM, Desire 516 comes with 4GB internal storage. It also features a microSD card slot that supports cards of up to 32GB capacity.
